Microsoft Flight Simulator Handbook

by Jonathan M. Stern

The Old Fashioned Way

The flight log is a single sheet of paper on which you can collect all the data that you need, in conjunction with the pilot's operating handbook, charts, and your flight computer, to fly an IFR trip. Figure 15.1 depicts the flight log that I prepared on my computer.

Figure 15.1. A flight log form is useful both for flight planning and flight execution.

You're welcome to fill in the blanks on my flight log or develop your own. Appendix E contains additional blank flight log forms for your use in flight planning.
