Airienteering with 13MIKE

by Fred J. Calfior and Douglas W. Miller

AirLeg 43

“During the Korean War, most of the battles between F-86s and MiG-15s took place several miles above the swath of land near the Yalu River, known as MiG Alley. There, American and Communist pilots fought against each other in engagements that would last a total of seconds (not many of them!). The results of these jet age dogfights were recorded by gun cameras equipped with shutters that were triggered automatically when the pilot fired his weapons. Smile! You 're on Candid Camera and I'm on your six!”
