“Whenever you are at an airport that has pilot controlled lighting, simply select the approach VHF frequency and depress the microphone switch a number of times. Keying the mike 7 times in 5 seconds gets you maximum runway lighting intensity. Then subsequently 5 and 3 gives medium and low, respectively. The lights will usually stay on for 15 minutes after the time of the most recent transmission.”
