You're on final approach to Runway 35, Tacoma Narrows Airport, Tacoma, Washington. That big body of water you see is Commencement Bay, one of the southern bays of Puget Sound. The Tacoma Narrows runway is unusual in that it reaches right out into the bay, so you'd best make your approach an accurate one. On the way down, consider that in Tacoma stands the world's tallest totem pole, carved by Indians from a single giant tree.

Try not to be low man on it.

Airport elevation is about 300 feet.
