We'll enter southern New Jersey--and Scenery Disk 7--by crossing the Delaware River exactly where George Washington crossed it and, like Washington, we'll land in Trenton. But whereas Washington went there to do historic battle with the Hessians on Christmas Day (and defeat them) after a bitter winter encampment at Valley Forge, we go there to engage one of the simulator's shorter runways (Runway 11 is 2999 feet long), and see how well we do. (Note that Mercer County Airport has three runways, not one as shown on your chart.) You're on a long final approach.

Although Trenton is not one of America's most attractive capitals, it did play a grand role in history as the turning point of the American Revolution, and was once a candidate for capital of the United States.

Elevation at Mercer County is about 220 feet.
